Off-road training with the Mülheim fire department

Successful off-road training with the Mülheim Fire Department! Practical training under challenging conditions.

As part of a two-day training course, we organized and conducted comprehensive off-road training for the fire department. The aim of the training was to teach emergency personnel how to safely operate off-road emergency vehicles and prepare them for challenging scenarios away from paved roads.

DAY 1

Varied terrain

The terrain at Offroadpark Bayern was ideal for making the training varied and practical. This included driving techniques such as driving on slopes and around bends, negotiating steep inclines, and driving through water. In addition, participants learned how to use four-wheel drive, reduction gears, differential locks, and modern assistance systems such as downhill asisst.

Portal axle vehicle vs. serial vehicle

Participants switched between portal axle vehicles and series production vehicles to experience the differences in handling, traction, and off-road capability firsthand behind the wheel.

DAY 2

Off-road tires

Participants were able to learn about and directly test the influence of different tire pressures in practical situations, with the tire pressure control system also playing a central role.

Safety and rescue

The LETECH team taught participants how to use winches and other equipment to recover their own or another vehicle, while also raising their awareness of the potential dangers involved in handling the equipment.
